Bear Looking Over Ice Flow
Collection: Bears
My polar bear photos were taken in Canada — more specifically two weeks at the Arctic Circle in winter weather that was never warmer than -27 degrees F, and the lowest I went out in was -46 degrees below. I earned my polar images! Since it was so cold, the Hudson Bay was freezing over, ice flows were forming and polar bears were starting to hunt for seals — their first food in months. My Nikon camera was a champ that worked regardless of how cold. This polar bear image was judged in the top 25 images submitted out of almost 70,000 in 2018 for Nature's Best/Smithsonian.
Fine art prints from $19.35 to $37.35 — available on canvas, acrylic and aluminium.
