Elk Calf Close-Up

Collection: Elk

Elk Calf Close-Up — wildlife photography print by Lynn Starnes

Elk calves are born from roughly late May into mid June, weighing 30 to 40 pounds. Within half an hour of birth a calf can stand and nurse, and it gains over a pound a day through its first months. The pale spotting on the coat breaks up its outline while it lies hidden in cover.

Fine art prints from $23.85 — available on canvas, acrylic and aluminium.

Photographed by Lynn Starnes. Every print is produced to order on museum-quality materials.
