About Lynn B Starnes and Wild Life Photos
38 Years Experience as a Biologist and Wildlife Photographer
2007 starts out with the New York Art Exposition on March 1-5.
July 2006 I was interviewed while photographing in the Valley Land Fund Photo contest in South Texas. A reporter for Lexus Nexus Magazine interviewed me while a professional photographer took pictures of me, my blinds, and some of animals on my ranch. This article, complete with my winning photographs, will be published in the summer of 2007.
An award winning photograph of the Matagorda Lighthouse (Matagorda National Wildlife Refuge) was requested for an article on the restoration of this lighthouse and will be published in 2007.
In 2006, I converted to a digital camera to facilitate participation in long-term photography contests. While it may be perceived to be old-fashioned these days, I prefer that my photography result in actual photographs. Having said that, I do use some digital techniques and I can now produce prints from 8x12 to almost any large size that does not need glass.
Also in 2006, I participated in a number of art shows in the Southwest that included Girls Inc, Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival, Santa Fe Council for the Arts, Arts in the Park shows, and the Bosque del Apache NWR Crane Festival Art Show. My work continues to be displayed at Marketplace Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Socorro Picture Framing in Socorro, New Mexico, and Variations by Victoria in Knoxville, Tennessee
